Vice-President, Partnerships at MEDTEQ+

Bio

François Bergeron is Vice President, Corporate Development at MEDTEQ+, a pan-Canadian health technology innovation consortium dedicated to accelerating the development and commercialization of medical technologies. He holds a PhD in life sciences and an MBA in corporate finance and previously founded and led a startup focused on micro robotics for medical applications.

Since joining MEDTEQ+ in 2014, he has played a central role in structuring and evaluating collaborative R&D initiatives, strategic partnerships, and direct investments across a national ecosystem of more than 200 industry, academic, healthcare, and government stakeholders. He has participated in the assessment of hundreds of research and commercialization projects and contributed to investment decisions in the MEDTEQ+ portfolio startups, that collectively raised more than $140 million in private capital.

His work sits at the intersection of capital allocation, commercialisation strategies and ecosystem building. He brings particular expertise in aligning public and private stakeholders, de-risking early-stage health technologies, and strengthening pathways from research to global markets.

Through his involvement in nationally coordinated initiatives, he is especially interested in advancing data-driven health innovation, fostering cross-border collaboration, and positioning Canada as a global leader in next-generation health technologies.
