Thank you, Dr. Guy Rouleau
DHDP thanks Dr. Guy Rouleau for his service on our executive committee for the past five years
The Digital Health & Discovery Platform, a program led by the Terry Fox Research Institute, would like to thank retiring Executive Committee member, Dr. Guy Rouleau for his guidance over the past five years; he has served on our executive committee since 2021.
His term as Director of The Neuro (Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital) finished in May 2026 and he continues as Chair of McGill University’s Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery until later this year.
In 2022, he was elected first vice-president of the World Federation in Neurology. As a clinician and researcher, his work has identified genes responsible for neurological and psychiatric diseases, such as autism, epilepsy and schizophrenia among others over the past 35+ years.
As co-founder of the Tanenbaum Institute for Open Science, Dr. Rouleau has championed the principles of open science in order to accelerate discoveries for the well-being of patients and society.
What inspired you to support the DHDP and Terry Fox Research Institute?
“I wanted to support the DHDP and Terry Fox Research Institute because I see this approach as being a step forward – into the future. While TFRI is largely focused on cancer — and this field is ripe to benefit from DHDP’s data sharing approach — the field of neuroscience will also benefit greatly from using these methods.”
Why is the DHDP an important initiative in precision medicine?
“DHDP is an important initiative in precision medicine and Canadian healthcare because it stimulates research with patients with the aim of developing practical impactful interventions that benefit people.”
